Arrowhead Marsh at the Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline Park
Sitting in between the Colosseum and the Airport, the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline is a stretch of parkland that surrounds what used to be known as the San Leandro Bay. This scenic park has some interesting features both manmade and natural.
The Arrowhead Marsh is a short walk from the main parking lot and is amazingly shaped like its namesake. oaktownman used to dream as a kid to procure an inflatable raft and explore the little canals that wisp through the marsh here. That hasn’t happened yet, but at least there’s a wooden boardwalk that will take you out over part of the marsh.

There’s a large field, underneath which lies a delightful city of ground squirrels who can be seen running from hole to hole.
